How Hagwow Began
It's no secret that students in the Philippines generally test lower on international exams compared to our peers around the world, and even around Asia and Southeast Asia. Hagwow was conceptualized to help fix this problem, by offering students and teachers better and more accessible resources to enhance the learning experience, both in the classroom and at home. Our ultimate goal is to remove the friction standing between students and their education, by presenting it in a new and unique format that delivers education to them more effectively.

But Why "Hagwow"?
The name Hagwow is inspired by the Korean word, 학원 or "hagwon". Hagwons are private tutorial centers in South Korea that are famously known for their rigorous training, traditional approaches, and consistently excellent results.
Like hagwons, we want to encourage students to study more after school, turning the act of learning into a regular part of life, rather than just an activity that is solely done within the classroom.
And so we came up with "Hagwow" - inspired by Korean educational excellence, and driven by modern accessibility.
